| How To Buy Used Books Online |
|
|
The high price of releasing books doesn’t stop people from pursuing their passion. If you make a search using Google, you will find innumerable websites that are there selling used books online.
The sites can be huge like Amazon or Barnes and Noble. They have sections devoted for used books. People can convienently buy from these sites without worrying about paying the high price of the original books.
In fact many interesting books are now available only as used books online. Have you heard about ‘How Opal Mehta Got Kissed, Got Wild, and Got a Life' by Kaavya Viswanathan, which was recently withdrawn from bookstalls by the publishers?
There can be personal tastes like mine that enjoy visiting a used book store and browsing through the variety of books available at the shop and to pick two or three that meets my taste. This however doesn’t let me search for a specific topic, title or author. Finding the one I like can also be a tedious task.
It is an entirely different experience buying used books online. I can search for the exact book and can locate it quite easily. But what I miss is the chance to mingle with others that come to the bookstore and spending some time bragging about the latest flick or listening to their bragging while hiding a smile from them.
In fact they are also rich source of enlightenment. Some book store workers are like the historic librarian who has never read a book other than the library rule book.
Companies that sell used books online generally leave an area in their websites for reader reviews. Such reviews are pretty useful. But one thing is to ensure there are different reviews and they are consistent before making the purchase.
Also keep in mind that you can’t say for sure what the condition of the book will be by the time it reaches your hand.
